RNC FORCES WALZ’S MINNESOTA TO STOP NON-CITIZEN VOTING

September 13, 2024

WASHINGTON - President Trump and the RNC’s Election Integrity team have forced Walz’s Administration in Minnesota to inactivate over 1,000 voters on the rolls who could be non-citizens or ineligible to vote. This is a huge victory to protect the vote and secure our election for Americans.

RNC Chairman Michael Whatley stated: “Kamala Harris opened our borders and Tim Walz opened Minnesota’s elections to non-citizen voting. Without the efforts of the RNC and MNGOP, Walz would have quietly allowed non-citizens to remain on the voter rolls and cast ballots this election. The contrast is clear: while Democrats push illegal immigrants to decide the future of our country, Republicans champion secure elections decided by Americans. We have held Walz’s Administration accountable, forced Minnesota to follow the law, and will continue to fight to protect the vote across the country.”

MNGOP Chairman David Hann stated:  "Walz is responsible for this failure in the election system. His extremist agenda is bad for Minnesotans, and he must be held accountable. We discovered and stopped this latest attack from the radical left and will continue to fight for secure elections in Minnesota."

Background:

  • Last month, the RNC and MNGOP discovered that a non-citizen had received a primary ballot in Minnesota, without registering to vote.
  • Tim Walz signed the law for automatic voter registration and Driver’s License For All, which allowed non-citizens on the voter rolls. His Administration totally failed to remove ineligible voters and clean the voter rolls.
  • Following this discovery, we demanded Walz’s Administration conduct a thorough review and removal of ineligible voters from the rolls.
  • Walz’s Administration responded that they had identified more than 1,000 potentially ineligible voters, including non-citizens, on the voter rolls and have marked them as inactive pending review and verification.
  • Without our investigation and action, Minnesota would have left their system open to non-citizen voting. We will continue to fight to stop non-citizen voting and ensure Americans decide American elections.
