What is a Caucus?
The Colorado legislature adopted the Caucus system in a special session called by Governor John F. Shafroth in August 1910 as part of a package of reforms. It was seen as a way to limit party bosses' power and attract more grassroots involvement. There are over 3,000 Republican Party Caucuses held in Colorado every even-numbered election year.
Caucuses are a great way to meet your like-minded neighbors. At the Caucus meeting, you will do several things. But the most important thing you can do is vote to elect President Trump supporters as Delegates to your County Assembly (required to be elected to the "higher" assemblies) and, most importantly, Delegates to your Congressional Assembly and the State Convention.
Why Should You Caucus?
The Caucus is where President Trump needs your support the most. At Caucus, electing supporters of President Trump to your Congressional Assembly and the State Convention is where Colorado will start to make a difference in this election. At your Congressional Assembly and the State Convention, you will elect National Delegates to the Republican National Convention. The Republican National Convention is in July, where President Trump will be officially nominated so he can evict Joe Biden from the White House!
President Trump will hand-pick who he wants to join him as Delegates to the National Convention. There will be an "Official Trump Slate" of National Delegate Nominees that he wants you to vote for at both the Congressional Assembly and the State Convention. We will make sure you know who will be on the Trump Slate before you vote.
How Do You Caucus?
Find your Caucus location at Caucus.Cologop.org.
Show up on your Caucus date and at your Caucus location at least 30 minutes early.
There will be volunteers at the Caucus to guide you through the process
Remember to elect ONLY supporters of President Trump as delegates to the assemblies and the state convention.
That's it! President Trump appreciates you participating in the Caucus on his behalf!
